Reliable books. Every month.
Monthly bookkeeping keeps your financial records accurate, current, and useful throughout the year. Every engagement is customized to the level of support your business actually needs. Bookkeeping shouldn’t be something you struggle to deal with at tax time, or only look at when there’s a problem. With monthly bookkeeping services, you get a clearer picture of how your business is actually doing.
At Bold City Bookkeeping, I do monthly bookkeeping for home service businesses like cleaning companies, lawn care businesses, pool services, and pressure washing businesses.

You don’t have to spend your evenings trying to keep up with QuickBooks. I’ll handle the books so you can focus on running the business.
What Happens Each Month With Monthly Bookkeeping?
Throughout the month, I review and categorize your income and expenses based on how your business actually operates. At the end of each month, I reconcile your bank accounts, credit cards, and loans to make sure everything ties out and your financial data is accurate.
I also pay close attention to details. If I see a vendor I don’t recognize, an unusual charge, or a change in revenue or spending that doesn’t quite make sense, I follow up with you to see what has changed. The goal isn’t simply to keep QuickBooks updated. It’s to make sure the numbers in it can actually be trusted.
What Does Basic Monthly Bookkeeping Cost?
Basic monthly bookkeeping starts at roughly $200 per month for sole proprietors and $300 per month typically for small companies with one or two employees. This includes transaction categorization, reconciliation of your bank and credit card accounts, a monthly Profit & Loss report, and a Balance Sheet. For sole proprietors who only need their books updated and reports prepared quarterly, plans start at $150 per month. I would love to talk with you to find the best fit for you and your business because, typically, everyone has different needs, and that’s where I come in to support you.
What If I Need More Support?
For businesses that need more than basic categorization and reconciliation, I also offer customized full-service bookkeeping. Depending on your needs, this may include:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Other financial reports and spreadsheet maintenance
- Employee and contractor onboarding
- Financial Guidance for Small Businesses
I’ll build the scope and monthly retainer around your business, your current systems, and the level of support that will be most helpful.
When Will I Receive My Monthly Financial Reports?
I aim to have each client’s books fully reconciled and closed by the 10th of the following month. Depending on your engagement, you can generally expect to receive your financial reports or scheduled review meeting between the 10th and 12th of the month. Your reports show how your business performed.
Some business owners just want to know their books are handled and receive their reports each month. Others want to dig into the numbers a little deeper. If that’s you, we can add regular financial review meetings to walk through your reports together, talk about what’s happening in the business, and make sure you understand what your numbers are telling you.
